Dance for VE Day

This spring, we’re getting England swing dancing to celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We’ll be sending out our dance experts to your events and celebrations over the weekend of May 8th- 10th to help individuals and local groups learn how to Lindy Hop in true 1940s fashion and bring your VE Day event to life.

Whether you’re having a knees up in a Nissen hut or a party in the park, you can apply to be part of Dance for VE Day. Anyone can apply, and we’re especially interested to hear from you if you’re planning to get the whole community involved in your celebrations, regardless of age, ability, background or belief.

After the closing date, we’ll choose one application from each county in England – and we’ll do everything we can to get you dancing in time VE Day 75.

Applications need to be completed and received by us by 5pm on 8 March 2020 using the online form below.

We’re looking for applications that:

encourage engagement within a local area or community and across the generations
show a desire to mark this significant anniversary in an engaging, memorable way for everyone attending

The winning entries will be selected by an English Heritage panel and we’ll notify you if you’ve been successful in the week of 16 March 2020.
