Visit & Contact information

  • Coach parking: There is no coach parking available on site. There is a car park about 100 yards from the site which is chargeable and coaches can drop off on Church Street which is next to the car park.
  • Catering: Vending machine selling tea, coffee and hot chocolate, as well as a selection of cold drinks and ice creams. A number of cafes, pubs and restaurants can also be found in the centre of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is within walking distance of the site.
  • Exhibition: The site boasts a range of temporary and permanent exhibitions to explore, including 'By Beat of Drum', which gives you an insight into the life of the British infantryman, and 'The Story of a Border Garrison Town'. The Gymnasium Gallery also holds a variety of art exhibitions for short periods throughout the year.
  • Access: There are ramps offering ease of movement around the exterior of the building. The museums themselves are all on multiple levels, which unfortunately does restrict access for wheelchair users. Each museum has a small number of steps up into them, however once inside, around half of both the Berwick Museum & Art Gallery and 'By Beat of Drum' are accessible.
