London's blue plaques scheme, founded in 1866, is believed to be the oldest of its kind in the world. Join historian Dr Susan Skedd on a guided walk around the streets of Holland Park and Notting Hill and discover where some notable former inhabitants lived and worked. Find out about the lives of an eclectic range of artists, writers, scientists and political figures who made this area their home, including the suffragette leaders Emmeline and Christabel Pankhurst.
This event has been graded as moderate access as it will take place in busy areas of London, with limited resting places. Please dress for the weather with comfortable footwear as there is no shelter on the walk. Refreshments are not provided however you are welcome to bring along your own.
