This Members’ Week, Riviera Travel are offering English Heritage members the chance to win a cruise for up to two people from Riviera’s full range of eight-day European cruises, including a drinks package and return travel between the UK and the ship’s port.

Each day of Members' Week (3-11 May), our newsletter will include a question based on that day's virtual event. Each day, simply answer that day's question and submit the form on this page. Every correct answer submitted counts as an entry, so there are up to nine chances to enter! Three winners will be randomly selected from all correct answers submitted.

We have recently returned from a wonderful Danube river cruise on the MS William Wordsworth and wanted to convey our thanks for an amazing holiday. The ship was beautiful, the cabin extremely comfortable, the food and drink delicious and generous, and the journey absolutely unforgettable. The Danube is a mighty and majestic river, a constant panorama of history and interest brought to life by local guides, and skilfully navigated by the captain and crew. As well as all the wonderful sights – Melk Abbey was a particular highlight – it is the feeling of calm and nurture that will stay with me. The staff and crew were simply fantastic, dedicated to ensuring that we had the best experience possible, and full of kindness, smiles and good humour. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 1. The Promoter

    1.1 The Promoter is The English Heritage Trust, incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 7447221 and charity number 1140351 whose registered office is at The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH (‘English Heritage’).

  • 2. The Competition

    2.1 The title of the competition is Members' Week 2025 Competition.

    2.2 These terms and conditions apply to the Members' Week 2025 Competition, running on the official English Heritage website from Saturday 3 May 2025 to Sunday 11 May 2025 inclusive (‘the Competition’).

  • 3. How to Enter

    3.1 All entries must be received by English Heritage between 00:01am on Saturday 3 May 2025 and 11:59pm on Sunday 11 May 2025 inclusive to be eligible for entry into the Competition. All entries received after this time are automatically disqualified.

    3.2 To enter the Competition, you need to submit a correct answer on any or all of the dates of Members' Week (3-11 May 2025).

    3.3 By submitting an entry, you are agreeing that any personal information provided with the entry may be held and used by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the Competition. All personal data provided to English Heritage will be held and processed in accordance with the requirements of all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of personal data and the privacy of electronic communications, including (i) the Data Protection Act 2018 and any successor UK legislation, as well as (ii) the UK GDPR; and (iii) the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (SI 2003/2426) as amended. English Heritage will keep the entrant’s personal data safe and secure. English Heritage will not share it with other organisations without the entrant’s knowledge and consent, unless required by law to do so. English Heritage will keep the entrant’s personal data only for the purposes of communicating with the entrant regarding this Competition. The entrant shall have the right to withdraw their consent at any time. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

    3.4 The Competition winners will be selected at random by English Heritage. The decision made by English Heritage acting reasonably will be final.

  • 4. Eligibility

    4.1 The competition is only open to all residents in the UK aged 18 years or over, except: employees or members of their immediate families or households of English Heritage or Riviera Travel or their holding or subsidiary companies.

    4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. English Heritage may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter.

    4.3 English Heritage reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

  • 5. The Prize

    5.1 Three English Heritage members will each win one cruise from Riviera Travel’s full range of eight-day European river cruises. The prize will include:

    • Cruises, that depart between June 2025 and November 2026, subject to availability.
    • Seven nights’ accommodation aboard a Riviera River Cruise ship, based on two people sharing a standard cabin.
    • Return travel between the UK and the ship's port.
    • All meals on board from dinner on the day of arrival to breakfast on the day of departure, unless otherwise stated within the cruise itinerary.
    • All excursions included as advertised in the cruise itinerary.
    • Complimentary on-board tea and coffee.
    • Complimentary on-board Wi-Fi.
    • Drinks package (see term 11.2).
    • Port charges and airport taxes.
    • Services of Riviera Cruise director.

    5.2 The Competition winners' names may be required to be featured in a member email or magazine with a quote from them about their trip provided by Riviera Travel. They may also be asked to share their experiences for a Riviera advertorial feature.

  • 6. Winner Announcement

    6.1 English Heritage will contact the winners personally by 16 May 2025, using the email addresses provided with the entries.

    6.2 The decision of English Heritage is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

    6.3 English Heritage will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If the winners cannot be contacted or are not available within seven days, English Heritage reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before 11:59pm on 11 May 2025.

    6.4 English Heritage does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

    6.5 English Heritage must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, English Heritage will send the surname and county of residence of the winner to anyone who emails marketing@english-heritage.org.uk or writes to Membership Marketing, Room 1.40, The Engine House, Fire Fly Avenue, Swindon, SN2 2EH (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month of the Competition closing. If the entrant objects to any or all of their surname and county of residence being published or made available, they must contact English Heritage at marketing@english-heritage.org.uk. In such circumstances, English Heritage must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  • 7. Limitation of Liability

    7.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, English Heritage, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of English Heritage, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

  • 9. Data Protection and Publicity

    9.1 By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you with the prize draw entry may be held and used only by English Heritage or its agents and suppliers to administer the competition.

  • 10. General

    10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, English Heritage may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

    10.2 English Heritage reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

    10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

  • 11. Riviera Terms and Conditions

    11.1 Where available, the prize is based on one cabin on any 7-night European River Cruise (with exception of cruises on the River Douro, and yuletide market cruises in November or December). This could be solo, twin or double occupancy.

    11.2 For departures in 2025, the drinks package consists of house wine, draught beer and soft drinks and juices during lunch, then from 6pm until midnight: Includes house wine, regional wines (during dinner), draught beer, house spirits and mixers, Martini & Sherry (pre-dinner), Port & Brandy (after dinner), cocktail and mocktail of the day, soft drinks and juices. For departures in 2026, the drinks package is available from 10am to midnight, daily and consists of house and recommended wines, draught beer, cocktail and mocktail of the day, house spirits and mixers (excluding liqueurs), soft drinks and juices.

    11.3 Travel by 30th November 2026. This date cannot be extended.

    11.4 All cruises are subject to availability.

    11.5 The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and the UK airport or Eurostar station, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenditure or incidental costs, beverages and any other food and drink that are not part of the package outlined above.

    11.6 It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure they and their guest each has a valid passport and travel insurance and obtain any necessary visas for their trip.

    11.7 The winner and their guest must adhere to the government’s travel advice.

    11.8 This prize draw is only open to UK residents, excluding employees and agents of (a) Riviera Travel or (b) any company connected with the production or distribution of this promotion, as well as their relatives or members of their family or household.

    11.9 Winners will be selected in a random draw from all eligible entries. Winners will be notified by email and will be provided with details of how to accept the prize. Failure by the winner to accept the prize in the manner specified, within 14 days of being notified, will make any claim invalid, and another winner will be selected in a random draw, from all remaining eligible entries.

    11.10 Should the winner be unable to accept the prize package for any reason then they will automatically forfeit their claim to the prize.

    11.11 The prize is non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

    11.12 The choice of cabin category will be at the sole discretion of Riviera Travel. If the winner chooses to upgrade their cabin, then this will be at an additional amount paid for by the winner, subject to availability.

    11.13 Entrants must be over 18. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request.

    11.14 By entering, you agree to your details being passed to and processed by Riviera Travel in line with their privacy policy (if you opt in as part of the form above). Details of the Riviera Travel privacy policy can be found at
