    Parking charges apply to non-members. Parking free for members. Car park with 20 spaces is located 50 metres from entrance (there are no separately allocated disabled parking spaces). Additional pay-and-display parking available down at the quay.

    Gift shop located at the entrance to the Keep. Sells a selection of English Heritage souvenirs and medieval themed gifts. Access via 15 steps.

  • Exhibition

    The upper hall houses a display by the Orford Museum Trust, including local finds of Roman brooches, medieval seals and coins and some of the borough regalia. Graphic panels display maps, documents, pictures and photographs, illustrating Orford’s history up to the 20th century.

    There grounds surrounding the castle is grassed and undulating.

    Audio tours describing the history of the castle are included in the ticket price.

    English Heritage welcomes all photographers to our sites and we hope you will share your pictures with us on Flickr and Facebook. We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted. English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
