Dog Bowl and Toileting
There is a dog bowl at the entrance to the site and at the castle. There are three dog bins on the site: in the car park; castle and on the quarry garden path.
Wheelchair Access
Castle and manor house reached by 700m path through gardens; access to the ground floor of the castle and the manor house via a ramp. Trampers are available to hire on site.
RADAR key access for level access route to the hall (via tearoom entrance) and gardens (via toilet gate). Key available at the shop for a refunded hire charge.
Shop has level access but narrow doorway.
Entrance / Set Down
Visitors can be set down outside the entrance to Belsay Hall.
Disabled Parking
There are fourteen designated blue badge parking bays in the main car park. We also try to create more spaces on busy event days.

Steep, spiral staircase to the upper levels of the castle and stairs to reach the first floor of the hall.

Seats are located across the grounds of Belsay and inside the hall.
Pathways Surface And Gradients
A step-free route around Belsay Hall is indicated on the information panel map at the welcome point. Paths are gravelled through the grounds. No steep gradients. A very gentle slope on the west quarry path. A gradient map is available in the shop for access routes for wheelchair users. Loose gravel surface in car park.
