Tickets are valid all day, so you can arrive at any time and stay for as long as you like within our opening hours.

Tickets are free for members. You can still book online if you’d like – just remember to bring your English Heritage membership card.

Uneven surfaces all over the site, including rabbit holes, tree stumps, and long grass.
Sheer Drop
One mine shaft is open to the public, access is by ladder down a 9 metre drop. Although shaft access is always supervised by a member of staff, there is no access down the shaft for children under 7 years old, or for those with limited mobility.

Grass areas may be slippery when wet.

The entire area is covered with undulations and slopes where the disused mine shafts are located.
