Access
Learning: Visits by school and other educational groups can usually be accommodated by the Rollright Trust who may be able to provide an expert guide, advice and suitable activities and resources for groups of any age. The Trust does not charge for such visits but requires organisers to contact them at least 3 weeks in advance via The Rollright Trust website , in order to make a booking that avoids clashes with other events and to plan the visit (including discussion of activities, resources and logistics, and assistance with Risk Assessment and Management planning)..
Parking and Pedestrian Access: There is limited parking (c. 18 spaces) in two lay-bys on Rollright Road adjacent to the King’s Men stone circle, but these often overflow along the verges at busy times. The lay-bys should NOT be used as the start of a longer walk, since this substantially reduces parking capacity for others. Do not leave valuables in your car.
Pedestrian access to the Whispering Knights and King’s Men is possible using permissive paths linked to the Darcy Dalton Way public footpath (see The Rollright Trust website )
The Stones are not directly located on a public transport route: for details of access using public transport please see The Rollright Trust website
Facilities: Wyatts garden centre, approximately 1 mile east of the Stones has a cafe and toilets as well as a farm shop which stocks guidebooks and post cards of the Stones. The nearest pubs and restaurants are in Long Compton and Chipping Norton..
