BOOK AHEAD AND SAVE 15%Parking charges apply to non-members. Parking free for members. The upper car park contains 15 spaces and two disabled spaces. When more parking is required, visitors can use the castle's lower car park, which has ample space available. A set of concrete steps and a steep road separate the car parks with the site's entrance. Unfortunately the site is not suitable for coaches, however mini buses are allowed. The nearest off-site car park is located in St Mawes village - charges apply.
The nearest bus stop to St Mawes Castle is St Mawes Car Park. This is the final stop on the route from Truro and involves a 0.6 mile / 0.9 km walk to the castle. Bus 50 operates from Truro Bus Station to St Mawes Car Park. See Go Cornwall website for details.
There are regular bus services to Truro from many Cornish towns. Passengers wishing to travel from St Austell to St Mawes will find connections at Probus (Bus 27 transfer to Bus 50) or at Tregony (Bus 51 to Bus 50).
The nearest train stations are Penmere and Falmouth Town. From Penmere Station, take a 1-mile walk to the Prince of Wales Pier and catch the Passenger Ferry to St Mawes Pier. It is then a 1/2 mile walk to the castle. From Falmouth Town, walk through the town centre to the Prince of Wales Pier (0.7 mile) and catch the Passenger Ferry to St Mawes Pier.

One of the best ways to approach the castle is by sea. A Passenger Ferry links Falmouth Prince of Wales Pier and St Mawes daily throughout the year, or you can travel by car on the King Harry Ferry from nearby Feock. For ferry times and fares visit falriver.co.uk
