Facilities at Tintagel Castle

  • Parking

    V

No parking on site. Pay and display parking (not operated by English Heritage) in the village, 600 metres away. Regretfully, there is no disabled parking on site.

  • Food And Drink

    V

With its bright and airy decor which reflects the coastal setting, the Beach Cafe is the perfect place for a tasty snack.

We have light lunches, delicious cakes and freshly-baked scones on offer, locally sourced where possible, including our traditional Cornish pasties.

For those summer days, we have Cornish ice cream available to cool you down. You can also treat your four-legged friends to some dog ice cream at Tintagel Castle.

  • Shop

    V

The main shop is located at the Visitor Centre and sells a range of Medieval and Arthurian souvenirs, including toy swords, books, tapestries and other English Heritage gifts.

  • Toilets

    V

Toilets are available next to the Visitor Centre and shop, including a disabled toilet and baby changing facilities. There are no toilets on the island.

  • Dogs

    V

Dogs are welcome at Tintagel Castle, but please note there are lots of steps, cliff edges and nesting birds, so please keep them safe on leads.

  • Exhibition

    V

An exhibition featuring exhibits in the shape of oversized books offers an introduction to Tintagel Castle through the ages. Historic artefacts and book sculptures tell the story of how fact and fiction have contributed to the history of this iconic landmark.

  • Gardens

    V

There are extensive grounds with fantastic sea views, providing a wonderful location for wildlife and bird watchers. Limited resting points. No cycle paths. Informal grassed areas around the ruins. Lots of running around space.

  • Family Friendly

    Baby Changing Facilities

Baby changing facilities are available in the toilets next to the Visitor Centre and shop.

    Child Sized Portions

    A childrens' menu is available.

    High Chairs

Highchairs are available for visitors to use in the Beach Cafe.

    Push Chairs Allowed

The rough terrain and number of steps mean that buggies and pushchairs cannot be used in some areas of the site. There is space available for pushchairs and buggies next to the Visitor Centre, and you are welcome to leave these here at your own risk.
