Things to see and do at Wellington Arch

Here are our highlights of the things to see and do on a trip to Wellington Arch, including the amazing views, the art exhibitions, the shop, and the chance to visit the nearby Apsley House.

Enjoy unrivalled views

Peek into the King's back gardens from the balconies of Wellington Arch. Look out over London's Royal Parks to the Houses of Parliament.

If you get your timings right, you can watch the Household Cavalry passing through the arch on their way to and from the Changing of the Guard. Stopping the traffic on their way as they ride on horseback beneath you – it is an unforgettable sight.

Explore our Exhibitions

Within Wellington Arch, you’ll discover displays revealing the building’s fascinating and sometimes surprising story.

On the second floor, you’ll find a display about the Royal Regiment of Artillery, 1914-1918. It commemorates the wartime sacrifice of over 49,000 artillerymen, remembered by the nearby Royal Artillery Memorial. It highlights the story of Gunner Stone, VC, and includes artefacts from the Ypres battlefields.

On the top two floors you can enjoy changing displays of contemporary art from the Vigo Gallery.
