The rectory at Warton is a rare survival of a large 14th-century stone house with great hall and chambers. It served as a residence and courthouse for the wealthy and powerful rectors of Warton.

Before You Go

Opening Times: Open daily, 10am-5pm from Easter to September, and 10am-4pm October to March. Closed over Christmas and New Year.

Access: The rectory ruins have a gravel floor, with short grass slopes behind. Limited disabled access.

Parking: On street parking is available in Warton.

Other Information: The rectory is opened daily by a local key keeper.

Just 12 miles from the Old Rectory is Stott Park Bobbin Mill, at one time an extensive working mill that supplied Lancashire's spinning and weaving industries. Take a guided tour, explore the exhibition or browse for a souvenir in the gift shop.
