Free parking located 70 metres from the entrance via slope, cobbles and loose gravel. Space for 2 disabled visitor cars (not marked). Disabled entrance is through the Keep at rear of building.

Light refreshments available - snacks, ice-cream, hot and cold drinks.

Picnic Area

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on grassed area outside the manor house or on the grassed area in Pele Yard. Picnic benches and some bench seats provided.

The gift shop sells a range of English Heritage souvenirs, snacks, ice-cream, hot and cold drinks.

Male and female toilets located through arch way leading to inner bailey area. Disabled toilet and baby changing facilities are located on the ground floor within the house.

Exhibition

Family friendly exhibition showing the history of the castle, along with some of the artefacts found on site which are displayed in the ground floor exhibition rooms of the house.

Gardens

Visitors can walk through the dry moat area which leads to small woodland area. Mill pond to left of entrance. No ball games within the castle walls (these are allowed in Pele yard). No kites please.
