Stones and Bones - Stonehenge in its Landscape

This session was developed in partnership with the National Trust. Explore Stonehenge and its place within the wider landscape. On an interactive tour, learn about the different stones and building techniques used, and how the monument relates to the solstice alignment. Using role-play, recreate a Bronze Age burial in the landscape, discussing replica objects based on artefacts found in the area and what they can tell us about the people buried here. Maximum class size of 30 per session.

Neolithic Life at Stonehenge

Tailored to the National Curriculum, this popular workshop will take your class back to the Neolithic period as they learn how to survive, strive and thrive at Stonehenge! They’ll complete interactive challenges, including model building and rope making; get hands-on with our replica Neolithic objects, and even prepare for Solstice in our reconstructed Neolithic houses. Maximum class size of 30 per session.

Myths and Legends
History, Literacy
KS2
Discover a world of myths and legends at the stone circle. This two hour, hands-on session includes a trip to the Stones and a tour led by one of our knowledgeable volunteers. Afterwards, the group will return to our dedicated education room to create their own myths using LEGO® StoryStarter kits. At the end of the session, the groups will be asked to share what they have built and re-tell their stories to the class.
