    The large airy shop stocks a wide selection of English Heritage products, including beautiful tapestry wall hangings. There is a wide range of wines and preserves with tastings every day. We also offer a good choice of traditional toys and many interesting books, including those for children.

  • Museum

    The museum explores the story of St Cuthbert and the 1300 year history of Lindisfarne Priory. The collection includes the Viking Raiders Stone, depicting the Viking raid on Lindisfarne in 793.

    Lindisfarne is reached by a tidal causeway which is cut off twice a day. Please ensure you check the tide times before setting out.

    The entrance to the visitor centre has smoked glass doors. These lead into a well lit area. Visually impaired people need to be aware of the possibility of walking into the doors. Slightly uneven ground across the site.

    If you are looking to use one of our sites for commercial, corporate or professional photography or as a filming location, please contact our filming team as soon as possible to check availability and acquire the relevant permissions and paperwork.

    Due to the delicate nature of our sites, English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
