Discover Pendennis Castle
Built on the headland of the Falmouth peninsula the original fortress was built by Henry 8th and together with Mawes Castle defended this natural harbour and bustling port from its European enemies. From the threat of the Spanish Armada to pirates and smugglers, Pendennis Castle has played its part in defining the history of Falmouth and the surrounding area.
The Custodian's House is the ideal base from which to explore this picturesque part of southern Cornwall, the Fal Estuary and Helford River with its rich in maritime heritage and stunning gardens.
