After exploring the Old Hall, relax and recharge in the café in the 15th-century parlour. It’s a place that has long been used for conversation and socialising: in the 19th-century, the room became the town’s Literary Institute, and it was later used as a Masonic Temple.
Here you’ll find teas, coffees and a variety of cold drinks, along with a selection of morning pastries and delicious cakes and ice creams. We have vegan and gluten-free options, and we also stock treats for your four-legged friends.
Senior Properties Historian Dr Nick Holder and Senior Curator Kevin Booth look back at the feasting and food preparation that took place at Gainsborough Old Hall, one of England’s biggest and best-preserved medieval manor houses.
