Heritage Open Days this September

Every September, Heritage Open Days celebrate England’s heritage and history with free events across the country.

This year Gainsborough Old Hall is offering free entry with no booking required on:

  • Sunday 20 September, 10am - 5pm (last entry is at 4.15pm)

On this day you can make your own clay tile, find De Mowbray's Musicke entertaining visitors with medieval and Tudor music and volunteers will be on hand for talks and tours.

Food and drink at Gainsborough Old Hall

After exploring the Old Hall, relax and recharge in the café in the 15th-century parlour. It’s a place that has long been used for conversation and socialising: in the 19th-century, the room became the town’s Literary Institute, and it was later used as a Masonic Temple.

Here you’ll find teas, coffees and a variety of cold drinks, along with a selection of morning pastries and delicious cakes and ice creams. We have vegan and gluten-free options, and we also stock treats for your four-legged friends.
