A small introductory exhibition in the visitor centre includes information about Neolithic mining, a virtual tour of the mines and landscape, and touchable reproduction Neolithic tools.
Set amid the distinctive Breckland health landscape, the whole 96 acres is a site of Special Scientific Interest. The area contains over 400 backfilled flint mines, has a habitat of rare and distinctive plants and animals. The flowers are particularly attractive from April to July. Extensive wildlife includes butterflies, rabbits, deer, birds of prey, foxes etc.
There is lots of space to run around here. Ball games are allowed and it is a fantastic place for kite flying!
