Facilities at Pevensey Castle

    Free on street parking is available in Westham and Pevensey. A pay and display public car park containing 50 spaces is located approx 300m from the castle entrance. (Not managed by English Heritage)

    Cold drinks and sweets are available from the castle gift shop.

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy anywhere in grounds or within the castle area. No picnic benches.

    Small shop sells a range of English Heritage souvenirs including Roman, World War, and 1066 conquest themes. It also sells a selection of sweets and drinks.

    Discover new interpretation revealing the castle’s history, including its role as a WWII observation and command post, alongside a brand new childrens' trail.

    Pushchairs allowed, but be aware that there is a steep external wooden staircase leading to the viewing area at the North Tower.

We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted. English Heritage does not permit drone flying from or over sites in our care, except by contractors or partners undertaking flights for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and permissions, and are operating under controlled conditions.
