Parking, including disabled visitor parking, is available in the large car park near to the entrance castle.
Parking is free for members, please collect a voucher from the shop and validate it a the machine.

Contemporary café open all year round selling sandwiches, snacks, hot and cold drinks. Has both indoor and outdoor seating, and wonderful views of the historic gatehouse.

A special exhibition at the gatehouse reveals the Abbey's role in the country's future, containing historic exhibits discovered at the Abbey and featuring a new multimedia guide. Stunning rooftop views can be enjoyed from the top of the gatehouse.
The exhibition '1066: the Battle for England' brings the background and impact of this renowned conflict vividly to life. Drawing a striking picture from the English and Norman sides of the years that led up to the conflict.
The short film in the exhibition provides the perfect introduction to your visit and tour, and we recommend you begin with this at the start of your visit.

There is plenty of space on the battlefield to run around and explore. Our bespoke natural play area features slides, swings and themed play equipment to explore and clamber on, and benefits from being located next to the abbey cafe.
