Bringing Aldborough to you.

In 2026, we are pleased to be working with the Friends of Roman Aldborough group to offer talks for local community and education groups. Their volunteers can come to your group (in person or virtually) and present about this brilliant site.

The talk is entitled 'Romans on your Doorstep.' A great deal has recently been discovered about this important Roman town which was a centre of administration for much of northern Britain. The talk outlines how Roman Aldborough (Isurium Brigantum) developed over time, how it was brought back to prominence by antiquarians and then excavated in recent years as part of the Cambridge University 'Aldborough Roman Town Project.'

To enquire about booking, please email NorthVolunteerEngagementTeam@english-heritage.org.uk

Please note: all talks are hosted by our brilliant volunteers so we may not be available for all dates suggested.
