Wheelchair Access
Only the grounds, shops, and ground floor of the site are accessible to disabled visitors. There are a number of shallow steps in the entrance passage and some wheelchairs may have difficulty. An assisting companion is recommended.
There are a number of slopes on the site.

Disabled visitors can be set down near to the entrance of the site, speak to the member of staff on duty to make arrangements.

Several steps in entrance passage. There are also three spiral staircases leading down to the gun emplacements and steep stairs leading up to the medieval defenses.

The site features a number of gravel areas and pathways. Entry to the castle is via a series of small stone steps.
