    No car park available, visitors must park on the street by the church. One minute walk to site or in the village.

    The small gift shop sells cold drinks, ice-cream and fudge or chocolate. There are also two pubs in the village offering food.

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn (there are no tables or benches).

    New graphic panels; a case displaying a Bible and prayer book used at the Bedehouse; and audio boxes where you can hear letters read by the ‘bedesmen’.

    One of the bedeswomen’s rooms is recreated as it may have appeared in late Victorian times.

    There is a small herb garden.

    The property is set in a beautiful historic village. The Bede House is next to the church and there is a short pleasant walk to medieval fish ponds (five to ten minutes) through the village.

We do have some restrictions at certain locations, so if photography is your main reason for visiting, please call the site ahead of your visit to check if any parts of the site are restricted.
