BBC's Antiques Roadshow to Visit Wrest Park and Eltham Palace

The BBC One programme will be filming this year at Eltham Palace and Gardens on 10 June and at Wrest Park on 19 July.

Two of English Heritage's historic properties will feature as locations in Antiques Roadshow this year.

Over the summer the television series will visit Eltham Palace and Gardens, an art deco mansion incorporating a medieval hall in London, and Wrest Park, a grand 19th-century country house in Bedfordshire.

Members of the public are encouraged to dust off their family heirlooms and raid their attics for free expert advice and valuations. Whether it's a valuable painting or a modest cup and saucer, everyone will get an expert opinion.

Antiques Roadshow has previously filmed at other English Heritage historic places including Audley End House, Bolsover Castle and Walmer Castle. Last year the crew filmed at Osborne, Queen Victoria's seaside home on the Isle of Wight, with episodes due to air on BBC One this spring.

In 2017 the programme celebrated 40 years on the road with some antiques and collectables reaching valuations as high as £1 million.

Robert Murphy, series producer of Antiques Roadshow, said:

'We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors when we bring Antiques Roadshow to Eltham Palace and Wrest Park.

'It's a great free, family day out and you can see how we make one of BBC One's most popular programmes. You never know what will be the special object and our team of experts look forward to helping visitors discover the story of their item's past.'

Alison Austin, English Heritage's Operations Manager at Wrest Park, said:

'We are thrilled to be welcoming the Antiques Roadshow to Wrest Park this summer and I can't wait to see what hidden treasures visitors will bring along the day.'
