Narnia at Wrest Park FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pre-book tickets to this event?
The only way to guarantee entry to Narnia at Wrest Park is to book in advance. We strongly recommend booking your tickets in advance as we have limited availability and during peak times can be fully booked.
On days that we’re fully booked, we may have some walk up tickets available, but it will depend on the capacity when you visit. For example, we expect most visitors to arrive in the morning, so walk up tickets may be available in the afternoon when its quieter, however this cannot be guaranteed.
You can find details on how to book on the event page. Please make sure you bring your booking confirmation with you on the day.
I’m a English Heritage Member, do I need to pre-book tickets?
Pre-booking for Members is recommended to attend Narnia at Wrest Park, particularly at the weekend, as the event is highly popular and may sell out.
Are there any additional costs for English Heritage Members?
This event is included in the standard entry price and English Heritage Members and any associated organisations get free entry. There is an additional charge to visit Father Christmas, for the fairground rides and for the afternoon tea, which Members will need to pay for. Father Christmas and the festive afternoon tea can be booked as an add-on in advance.
When should I arrive?
Wrest Park will be open from 10am – 4pm, and you can arrive at any time within our opening hours and stay for as long as you like, last entry will be at 3pm. The event can get busy, especially on weekends. The quietest times to visit are after 1pm.
We expect the event to be popular on weekends, with queues to get into the house possible. So we recommend booking on weekdays or in-between
Who is the event suitable for?
The event is suitable for all ages, it’s perfect for families and fans of Narnia!
Is the event suitable for those with accessibility needs?
The event takes place inside Wrest Park Mansion House, on the ground floor, and goes into Wrest Park’s grounds. Some of the route may be on uneven terrain or involve steps, but the majority of the trail will be accessible to wheelchairs, and there will be ramps in place to allow access for wheelchairs.
There are a number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters available to hire from our reception on: reception.wrestpark@english-heritage.org.uk.
Due to the historic interiors we ask that users of electric mobility aids maintain low speeds in the house.
Accessible toilets and blue badge holder parking is available at Wrest Park. Assistance dogs are allowed in the house.
Please click here for our Sensory Access Guide.
Can I bring a pushchair/buggy into the house?
For the duration of the Narnia event only, we are allowing pushchairs and buggies into the mansion. Access to the mansion will be via a ramp from the terrace. We are expecting weekends to be very busy, we would recommend avoiding weekends where possible for a better experience, or arriving later in the day to avoid crowds.
Will there be parking?
Parking for Narnia at Wrest Park will be in the North Field opposite the entrance. The car park next to admissions will be closed over winter to allow the grass time to rest. The disabled and blue badge parking will be in the walled garden as usual.
Are dogs allowed to visit too?
Dogs are welcome into the grounds at Wrest Park, but are not able to enter the house. So we’d ask you to please leave them at home when attending our Father Christmas and Narnia events.
Assistance dogs are allowed in the house.
Will there be food and drink?
The café will be open during the event offering a range of hot drinks, food and cakes. There’s also the option to add a festive afternoon tea to your booking.
I’d like to attend Father Christmas at Wrest Park too, is that possible?
Yes! There’s an extra charge to visit Father Christmas, so you’ll need to add a ticket to see Father Christmas on the ‘enhance your visit’ page while booking.
