The English Heritage kitchen collection celebrates the beauty and craftsmanship of England’s architectural and cultural past. When designing the range of cabinetry, The White Kitchen Company gathered inspiration from many English Heritage historic sites including Apsley House, Home of Charles Darwin - Down House and Brodsworth Hall and Gardens. Their creative journey led them to some unexpected sources, from the charming cornice on a maid’s long-forgotten wardrobe to a delightfully panelled window shutter at Darwin’s Down House.

From the beginning it was clear that a range of furniture bearing the English Heritage name should have the highest sustainability standards possible and employ the best traditions of classic English cabinet making. The range is entirely constructed from solid FSC-certified hardwood - not only the solid oak drawers but also the hardwood carcasses are constructed with traditional dovetailed joints. The traditional five-piece doors are mortice and tenoned.

The specially formulated English Heritage furniture paint is extremely low-VOC and even the glue used is chosen for its ecological credentials and has zero VOC emissions. This ethos is carried throughout The White Kitchen
Company - their showroom is powered by solar panels and their workshops utilise biomass heating fed with their timber waste.

The result is a stunning range of furniture that is both timeless and elegant. A range designed with care, attention to detail, a deep respect for our environment and, as craftsmen working with timber, respect for the natural
materials used.

The English Heritage kitchen is beautiful and functional, classic in its simplicity with just a few light touches to elevate its design style.

Drawer fronts are framed with cock beading, a classic 18th-century English design detail which is carried onto doors, framing the inner panel. The drawer fronts also have an extra detail in the form of a traditional raised and fielded panel.

Whilst primarily designed for the kitchen, the cabinet range sits equally well in all areas of the English home.
