    There is disabled parking available onsite only. Parking is available in the town car parks for all other visitors at: South street Car Park LE65 1BH, Royal Hotel Car Park  LE65 2GP, North Street Car park LE65 1HU (charges apply).

    There are no coach and minibus spaces available on site

  • Food And Drink

    There is no café on site, but a vending machine offers tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Ice cream is also available to purchase.
  • Picnic Area

    You are welcome to bring a picnic to eat in the grounds. There is some circular seating positioned underneath a tree and plenty of grass to lay out your picnic blanket.
  • Shop

    The shop which is located next to the site entrance sells a selection of English Heritage gifts and themed souvenirs.
  • Toilets

    There is one unisex toilet and one disabled toilet.
  • Dogs

    Dogs on leads are welcome across the site.

  • Gardens

    The grounds consist of large, level areas of grass, as well as the mysterious castle garden, which is famous for its elaborately shaped sunken features.

    Please note: Visitors can climb the 24 metre (78 feet) high tower built by Lord Hastings.

  • Audio Tours

    The free audio guide provides an amusing account of the castle's dramatic history, drawing upon a masque performed here for Alice Spencer, Countess of Derby, in the early 17th century. Please note that the guides will not available on event days, and it is recommended that group visits book in advance (please call the site on 01530 413343 for further information).

    Push Chairs Allowed

    Pushchairs are welcome at Ashby de la Zouch.

    The castle is situated on a grassy area so may not be suitable for all pushchairs.
