A parkland excursion on and around the 1066 Battlefield. This exclusive event will explore the abbey parkland as laid out by Lord Montague and later changed by the Websters and the Duchess of Cleveland.
There will be much to explore and discuss, including natural history and evidence of human history from the occupation by the monks to the Canadian army in 1944. Bring boots, perhaps binoculars, and curiosity!
This event has been graded as challenging access as it takes place on the 1066 battlefield, which is undulating underfoot with few places to stop and sit down.
