SUITABLE FORAdults
Find out more about Charles II's extraordinary escape after his defeat at the Battle of Worcester in 1651 in this special evening event for members at Boscobel House. Julian Humphrys will tell the story of the young king's six weeks on the run and how he avoided capture, and there will be a chance to see where Charles hid in the house and visit the Royal Oak, the descendent of the tree that Charles famously climbed to hide from his parliamentarian pursuers.
Refreshments of a hot drink and a sweet treat will be included in this event. This event is graded as easy access, however it may include walking over uneven terrain and some stairs.
